Respect Your Nanny

It is so important to stress that the nanny is a professional who needs to be treated as an equal at all times. You are striving for continuous communication which will help build up the employer-employee relationship, which in turn will lead to a long lasting loving relationship with your children’s nanny. Nannies need to earn a living as you do, they have chosen a vocation they love and they have worked hard to achieve their level of success. They too have responsibilities at home that they leave behind at home once they enter your home. Do not take advantage of your nanny, reward and compliment when the need arises. If you arrive home early and want to spend time with your children, allow the nanny to leave early rather than give her jobs to do to fill her time, you the parent will be rewarded when the nanny is asked to do something above the call of duty from time to time. It’s all about giving and taking like any good working relationship.
